BurgerFuel Artist Recording Fund
(B.A.R.F) is a new fundraiser
sponsored by the fast-growing
New Zealand hamburger chain,
BurgerFuel. A recent
fund-raising effort supplied
enough money to help a popular,
yet somewhat "starving" band
receive enough capital to propel
its career.
Wanting to do something for the
music, the burger chain let the
public decide who should receive
the cash. New Zealanders
chose Surf City out of 11 bands
that battled it out for the
prize.
Surf City came in first with Cut
Off Your Hands second. A new
band bus, recording equipment,
instruments and upcoming touring
costs will all be aided with the
cool cash, according to Jo
McAlpine, band manager.
